Tijdens mijn studie scheikunde aan de Universiteit Utrecht ben ik langzaam maar zeker steeds meer richting de fysica gedreven. Zodoende ben ik in maart 2012 als onderzoeker in opleiding begonnen op het FOM-programma 'Functional Nanoparticle Solids' bij de UU. In dit onderzoek kijk ik naar de interacties tussen colloïdale deeltjes en hun onderlinge ordening/structuur.

Direct bij de start van mijn promotietraject werd mij duidelijk hoe waardevol een goede ondernemingsraad is. Ik had ook het geluk dat een oud-jaargenoot lid was van de COR en verderop in de gang zat, zodat ik altijd snel even langs kon gaan. Dat hoop ik ook te kunnen bieden aan de huidige en toekomstige FOM-medewerkers aan de UU en WU, via mail, telefonisch of loop gerust langs.

From the start of my chemistry study at Utrecht University, I slowly started drifting towards physics. That is how I ended up at the FOM programme Functional Nanoparticle Solids at the UU in March 2012. In my research, I investigate the interactions between colloidal particles and the structures these particles form.

Right from the start, it became clear to me how important it is to have a good central works council. I had the fortune of just being down the hall from a COR member that I had also studied with. This way, I could always just drop by whenever I had a question. I hope I'll be able to offer the same assistance to current and future FOM employees at the UU and WU, either by email, telephone or just drop by.
