MRS Fellows are appointed "for their distinguished research accomplishments and their outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials research worldwide.
MRS is the leading organization of scientists worldwide in the field of ‘materials science’. MRS has over 15,000 members from over 80 countries. MRS organizes two major annual conferences that bring together researchers in the field of materials research in all disciplines (physics, chemistry, biology). Polman was awarded the Fellowship at a special ceremony at the MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 7th.
The MRS Fellowship is an exclusive appointment. MRS has only 97 Fellows.
