  • For 2011 the maximum number of hours that can be sold is 120. The maximum number that can be purchased is 80 hours per year. For part-time employees the amount should be adapted in proportion to the size of their contract. If the employee in question has only been employed for part of the year, the maximum number which may be bought or sold in one year (for full-time employees) is adapted accordingly. (If an employee starts work on 1 July, his entitlement will therefore be 6/12 of 120 hours = 60 hours to be sold for the year in question and 6/12 of 80 hours = 40 hours to be purchased for the year in question).
  • If you make use of standard childcare facilities, you are entitled to be paid out an additional 16 hours. The maximum amount of hours to sell will then be 136 per year. You have to indicate this explicitly.
  • For university-based staff: The FOM Office maintains a leave record showing AVOM hours accrued and AVOM hours taken.
  • For institute-based staff and FOM Office staff: Your personnel officer will ensure that your leave record is adjusted to reflect AVOM hours accrued and AVOM hours taken.
  • In principle, the data will be processed in accordance with your choice. You will only be informed by usif your choice cannot be granted or can only be granted partly.
  • The value of the hours to be sold or purchased will be determined on the basis of the gross salary, including fixed allowances, holiday pay and end of year bonus and minus a monthly deduction for AVOM, as these apply when the agreement goes into effect.

Only applicable to Object 1: purchasing extra holiday hours
If you opt for a monthly reduction in your gross salary, this is reflected in your salary-related allowances and reimbursements, and in the social insurance contributions you are required to pay and your entitlement to these social insurance provisions.
Explanation:
A monthly reduction in your gross salary also lowers the amount that you will be entitled to should you become unemployed once your period of employment has ended. If you have any doubts about the consequences in your case or if you would like to obtain more information on this subject, feel free to contact a member of the salary administration staff: Jeroen de Vree, +31 (0)30 600 12 36.

Only applicable to Object 2: payment for holiday hours
If you sell your holiday hours, the mandatory deductions will be made on the gross payment. The net value of the hours to be sold is then paid out with your salary.
