European valorisation prize and first Kavli dissertation award for FOM researchers
FOM board member Prof.dr.ir. Detlef Lohse has been awarded a European valorisation grant with his research proposal 'Needle-free, rapid and safe injections for patients'. Former FOM-PhD candidate Dr. Katja Nowack received the first edition of the Kavli Delft dissertation award at the end of September.

The first thirty of these grants - awarded from the new ERC grant, Proof of Concept - were announced last week. As an ERC Advanced Grant winner from 2010, Lohse will receive an additional sum of € 150,000 to bridge the gap between his ERC research and a commercial product. Click here for further information.
Kavli disseration award
The winner of this new biennial prize for the Institute's best dissertation receives a sculpture and € 3,000. Nowack graduated cum laude in 2009 and is now a postdoc at Stanford. Click here for further information.
