32 project proposals within HTSM awarded a total of 19 million euros
In the Top Sector High Tech Systems and Materials (HTSM) 32 project proposals have been awarded a total of 19 million euros. Technology Foundation STW, NWO, FOM and ZonMw are contributing 11,4 million euros. High-tech companies are contributing 7.5 million euros of which 4 million euros in cash, 40% of the total project costs. The grants mean that 32 of the 73 projects proposals submitted can be realised. With these grants the Top Sector HTSM, an essential booster for a strong Dutch economy, is the first of the top sectors to get off the ground.
First projects awarded
This call was organised by Technology Foundation STW, together with the FOM Foundation and ZonMw. Four of the 32 projects fall within physics and will be managed by FOM. Once all 32 successful applicants have been personally informed a list of the projects awarded will be published online. All projects fit within one of the fifteen HTSM roadmaps .

It also provides key solutions for societal challenges such as sustainable energy, more effective healthcare, better mobility and increased security. The top sector initiates, innovates develops and produces end products, semi-finished products, components, materials and services for clients throughout the world. These include applications in healthcare, lighting, chips and chip production, laboratory and office equipment, cars, logistics systems, aircraft and satellites, energy (generation, transport and storage), food processing and security.
