Extra thick December issue of FOM expres published
This week the December issue of the relations magazine FOM expres will fall on the doormat of all current and former FOM employees, FOM workgroup leaders, FOM board and committee members, relations at universities and companies and other interested persons. In this extra thick issue, the transition towards a new NWO takes centre stage. Acting FOM director Christa Hooijer shines her light on this in an interview on page 10, and Executive Board member Theo Rasing also gives his vision on the transition.
Sijbrand de Jong is interviewed about his new position as president of the CERN Council, Aart Kleijn explains how he is setting up a new research institute similar to DIFFER in China, and University of Twente professor Mireille Claessens talks about her research into proteins. FOM gives us a glimpse of its contributions to the top sectors and in the Opinion section AMOLF group leader Kobus Kuipers writes about publishing. The Science section looks at the Nature publication of Ronald Hanson and his team, highlights Wouter Verkerke and his research into the Higgs particle within the ATLAS group, and talks with René Janssen about how he will use his NWO Spinoza Prize. You can read all of this and far more in the December issue of the FOM expres.
