Valuable expert meeting for science, industry and clinicians
On 23 February, 16 physicians from the Máxima Medical Center (MMC) talked with researchers and high-tech companies active in medical technology during an interactive workshop at the Health Innovation Campus in Veldhoven. During the evening a valuable exchange of knowledge, experience and contact details took place.
At the initiative of the HTSM roadmap Advanced Instrumentation, High Tech NL, the Health Innovation Campus and MMC Academie, participants explored the possibilities to develop new products and research projects. They did this in four groups during two sessions. Thanks to the diversity of the participants many different subjects were considered. For example, ideas were exchanged about methods for the non-invasive measurement of skin temperature on the head during cooling to prevent hair loss when patients undergo chemotherapy. The quality requirements of home monitoring formed another valuable discussion. The development of innovative measurement methods for vital body functions in vulnerable patients, such as premature babies, was also discussed.
Under the leadership of the organisation many highly promising ideas will be further elaborated into innovative collaborative projects. Sessions like these are regularly held at the Health Innovation Campus and are announced via its website and digital newsletter.
